Family and Parent Support

In order to support your children as best we can, we are committed to working with you and your family. We work closely with many different organisations, so if we don’t have the expertise ourselves we usually know where to find it and can signpost you to appropriate support.

If we think your child may need extra support we will discuss this with you. If you think you or your child needs help or advice of any kind, please let us know. We have a team of people who work with us at school to support our families and children. Some are at school every day, but some only occasionally. There are many parenting courses run across Islington and we can provide you with information of these. Leaflets advertising these and other useful information for families can be found in the main Reception area and in the Children’s Centre (for under 5’s). Sometimes we invite other professionals and organizations to run coffee mornings on particular topics or to introduce their services to parents.

We run frequent parent workshops in school on a range of topics that will help you to learn more about how your children learn and how you can help them at home. We also give information to children and parents on how to keep healthy and safe including e safety, Female Genital Mutilation, Domestic Violence, Gang membership, healthy eating and good dental health.  Workshops are advertised in the school newsletter, on the school website and through the school’s text messaging service.
