4.02.22 - Knowledge Hunt
This week we learnt all about the events of the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in Pompeii. Pompeii was a Roman town in southern Italy. On 24 August 79AD was buried under volcanic ash and rock following the eruption of the volcano, Mount Vesuvius. Most of the people who lived there were killed. The town was excavated 1,600 years later and the remains of many items, buildings and artefacts were found.
This week we went on a knowledge hunt around the playground to find out all about the events that happened that August, how the city was before the eruption and what we could learn from what was found there.
