Pupil Premium

The pupil premium is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers. Pupil premium funding is available to us through our association with the local authority.

Sports Premium

At Moreland Primary School, we recognise the contribution of PE and sport to the health and well-being of the children. We believe that an innovative, varied PE curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities have a positive influence on the concentration, attitude and academic achievement of all our children. We do 2 hours PE each week which includes a fitness challenge- the fitness challenge is changed termly: this term’s challenge is to run or walk a mile at least 2 times.

Thank you for supporting your child’s education and the school. We have seen so many improvements over the past couple of years, including improved SATS results and there is always a lot going on in the school. The one issue that really does need to continue to improve is the attendance of children at the school – we want to make sure that children are at school as often as possible so that we can give them an excellent education. For many years, the attendance of children at Moreland has been among the lowest in Islington and we continue to work with parents to change this.

British Values

The government set out its definition of British values in the 2011 and 2015 Prevent Strategy and these values have been reiterated by the Prime Minister this year. In our schools these values are reinforced regularly and information can be found by reading the document below.

Safeguarding Statement

Moreland Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
